What’s up, Havasu! Your local insider here, and I am already Revving. My. Engines.

If you thought the Balloon Fest was the only way to kick off 2026 with a bang, think again. We’re trading the peaceful, floating rainbows in the sky for some dirt-slinging, metal-crunching, adrenaline-pumping action down on the ground.

Get ready, because the Mohave Valley Raceway Demolition Derby is hitting the track on Saturday, January 17th, and it’s going to be absolute chaos in the best way possible.

Whether you’re a die-hard gearhead or just someone who loves the sound of crunching metal (admit it, we all do), this is the local event you don’t want to miss.

The Lowdown: Smash, Crash, and Cash

This isn't just your average Sunday drive. Wrecked Neck Racing is bringing the heat to Mohave Valley Raceway with three heavy-hitting classes:

  • Limited Weld (The Main Event): These are the big dogs. Expect heavy hits and serious strategy.

  • One & Done Stock: Pure, raw demolition.

  • MWFA (Gut N Go): The "stripped down and ready to rumble" crowd.

Event Details (The "Need to Know" Info)

  • Date: Saturday, January 17th, 2026

  • Location: Mohave Valley Raceway, 2750 Laguna Road, Mohave Valley, AZ

  • Time: * Pits Open: 10:30 AM (For those who want to see the cars before they get totaled)

    • Gates Open: 1:00 PM

    • Racing Starts: 2:00 PM (Perfect timing to soak up that winter sun!)

Pricing & Pro-Tips

  • Tickets: Adults are $20, 1st Responders/Military are $15 (with ID), Kids (6-12) are $12, and the little ones (5 & under) are FREE!

  • CASH ONLY: This is the most important tip I can give you—the ticket booth and pit passes are CASH ONLY and there are no ATMs on site. Don't be that person stuck at the gate! (Note: Concessions and the Beer Garden do take cards).

  • Pit Passes: Want to get up close? Pit passes are available ($40 for adults, $25 for kids 3-12).

  • The Food: They’ve got the classic racetrack staples—burgers, cheeseburgers, nachos, and ice-cold beer. Remember, no outside food or coolers are allowed.

Thinking of Entering?

If you have an old car taking up space in your driveway and a dream of glory, check out Wrecked Neck Racing for the full rulebook. From mounting fuel cells to the specific "Limited Weld" specs, they’ve got it all laid out so you don’t get disqualified before the first hit.

Why You Should Go

This is a true-blue, local Mohave County tradition. It’s loud, it’s dusty, and the energy in the stands is electric. It’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon with the family before heading back into Havasu for dinner. Plus, supporting our local raceway keeps the "motorsports capital" spirit of our area alive!
